"The Tooth and The Nail" revolves around the life of man who is searching for the murderer of his wife. The 1955 mystery novel was written by American author and screenwriter Bill Ballinger.

Drama Beans noted on Wednesday that the Korean adaptation of the mystery novel will be directed by Jung Shik. Veteran star Han Seok Kyu was initially reported to take on one of the leading roles, however, recent reports reveal that South Korean actor Go Soo will lead the cast of the film adaptation.

37-year-old Go started out as a commercial model before he was given a role as an extra for a music video in 1998. A year after that, Go appeared in a couple of television sitcoms "Funky Family" and "Jump."

The South Korean actor has also starred in a number of films such as "White Night," "The Front Line," "Love 911," "Way Back Home" and his recent project "Lucid Dream."

Aside from that, Go also appeared in several TV drama series including "Age of Innocence," "Green Rose," "Marrying a Millionaire" and "Empire of Gold."

For the Korean adaptation of the mystery novel, Go will play as the man who will search for the killer of his fiancée. Korea Joongang Daily reported on Thursday that the actor signed a deal to take the role just recently, as per his agency Yoo Born.

"[Go] is learning Japanese, tap dance and how to play piano for the film," his agency said in a dispatch.

Go will share the screen with Korean actors and actresses such as Kim Ju Hyuk, Park Sung Woong, Moon Sung Geun and Im Hwa Young, who will play as Go's fiancée.

Reports reveal that the film "will be set in the independence era post-World War II." In addition, filming of "The Tooth and The Nail" will start this month. The film adaptation is slated to hit the theaters next year.
