A “Samurai Jack” reboot is finally happening after being off the air for a decade. What's more, fans will be surprised to know that according to rumors, the classic cartoon series will have a darker, more gruesome plot.

Design ’N Trend wrote that if indeed the popular Cartoon Network will be brought back again, it will apparently be suspenseful to add a structure to the story arc of the series. The return of the Scotsman and Jack finally defeating Aku are reportedly also a possible plot for the new version of the classic cartoon.

Additionally, it was reported that if in case the creators would want to get the attention of an adult audience or the people who grew up watching the series, it will be best to add more personality to the other characters such as Jack’s allies.

The “Samurai Jack” reboot will be spearheaded once again by Genndy Tartakovsky together with Adult Swim, The Verge reported. The creator happens to be the genius behind other cartoon classics like “Dexter’s Laboratory” and “Star Wars: Clone Wars.”

TV reported that the series debuted on Cartoon Network in the year 2001 and reportedly ran for four seasons with a total of 52 episodes. It reportedly became a cult favorite, making Jack the samurai a well-known in pop culture. In fact, it was reported that during its run, it was able to get two Emmy wins.

The series reportedly influenced multiple cultural aspects in both the US and Asia, starting with pop art, samurai culture, Japanese cinema, and even science fiction.

“Samurai Jack” reboot was reported to be showing new episodes on Cartoon Network anytime this 2016.
