Country music legend Johnny Cash posthumously receives Music City Walk of Fame award with the ceremony inducted on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the Walk of Fame Park in Nashville, Music News writes.

Johnny Cash's Music City Walk of Fame award was presented to his younger brother Tommy, who represented the iconic musician in the induction ceremony. When asked what would Cash's reaction be if he were still alive, Tommy replied, "Well, I got another plaque." Tommy, 75, later added that he deserves it and he also deserved the Johnny Cash Museum.

It's not only the late Johnny Cash who got Music City Walk of Fame award on that day. Miranda Lambert, who is behind the hit single "Mama's Brokern Heart", rock guitarist Steve Cropper and influential executive E.W. "Bud" Wendell were also inducted with their own stars at the ceremony. Lambert congratulated her fellow awardees and added that saying Johnny Cash's name alongside hers "takes her breath away" as reported by Noise11.

Johnny "J.R." Cash was born on Feb. 26, 1932 in Kingland, AK. He rose to fame in country music with his hit songs "I Walk the Line," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Ring of Fire," "Get Rhythm" and "Man in Black" and went on to become one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.  Aside from country, his musical works also range from rock and roll to blues, folk, rockabilly and even gospel. He passed away on September 12, 2003 at the age of 71.

The singer was portrayed by actor Joaquin Phoenix in the biopic "Walk the Line" which also starred Reese Witherspoon as his wife June Carter Cash, which she won the Best Actress award at the 78th Academy Awards.

As Johnny Cash's Music City Walk of Fame award was presented to his brother Tommy, the latter stated: "I miss him very much. Hes been gone 12 years, and June Carter Cash has been gone, but their spirits and their genuineness is here in this plaque."
