'The Seven Deadly Sins' Season 2 Release Date Pushed Back To 2017? Spoilers Tease Meliodas's Uprising?

The latest speculations claim that the release date of "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime series has been pushed back to next year.

International Business Times reported that the even though the release date of the new season episodes has been set for 2016, the English dub version will be not be aired until 2017.

"The Japanese text from the official video of the anime only tells fans that the production is green-lit for 2016, but since the Japanese first season finished airing in March of 2015, it is probably safe to presume that North American audiences will need to wait until 2017," The Inquisitr claimed.

Earlier, Anime News Network reported that the release date for "The Seven Deadly Sins" season 2 has been confirmed for 2016 release. But the recent speculations claim that the new season has been delayed to gain a head start in the storyline after the author of the manga series, Nakaba Suzuki finishes writing new manga chapters.

With all the release date rumors, some spoilers teasing Meliodas's uprising in the upcoming season 2 of "The Seven Deadly Sins" have also surfaced.

There are speculations that the new season will feature few action-packed sequences with Meliodas reinstated with his full powers.

Also, the new season will showcase new antagonists, Demon Clan and Escanor. It is also rumored that the new episodes will also feature a group of powerful demons called as the Ten Commandments.

Additionally, there are rumors that season 2 of the anime series will be based on the new manga chapters that will be written and illustrated by Nakaba.

The storyline for the upcoming season will be highly dependent on Suzuki's willingness to share his notes for the upcoming chapters, so that "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime and the manga series will not deviate too much from one another.

The season 2 of "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime series will be aired on Netflix in 2017.
