Can Theo James Become The Next James Bond? Up Against Hugh Jackman, Tom Hiddleston
According to rumors, Theo James is being considered to become the next James Bond, after speculations of Daniel Craig leaving the franchise started to surface.
He's reportedly so focused on becoming the famous fictional spy that he's already neglecting his upcoming wedding with girlfriend Ruth Kearney.
GQ previously pointed out that the 31-year-old actor has the "perfect smolder" for the highly-coveted role. Movie News Guide also claimed that he was a "likely successor" for the "Spectre" star.
However, Theo James has some tough competition for the famous role.
One of the candidates, according to Youth Health Magazine is internet darling, Tom Hiddleston. The "High-Rise" star is reportedly eyeing the coveted slot, admitting in an interview that he wouldn't pass up a chance to get a chance to play James Bond.
"I think any British actor that gets a phone call that says, 'Would you like to play James Bond?' There's no more enticing question than that," he said, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
"Who on God's green earth knows who's gonna play the next James Bond? [But] I'd love to be in a Bond film at some point," he continued.
On the other hand, Hugh Jackman made headlines recently when he posted a video on Instagram which showed him drinking a martini.
"Shaken, not stirred," he said, further dropping hints that he might just be telling his followers of his new movie role, according to The Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Craig recently confirmed his decision to end his time as 007 as he signed up for US TV drama, "Purity," Deadline reported.
If the rumors are true then Theo James has a great chance of becoming the next James Bond.
Aside from Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Jackman, one more competition for Theo James for the James Bond role is "War And Peace" star James Norton, who was recently thrown into the betting pool by bookies.
The Independent pointed out that other award-winning actors were also included in the list such as Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Henry Cavill.
Meanwhile, the "Divergent: Allegiant" star is busy filming "Underworld: Next Generation" in Czech Republic.
