Shawn Michaels to return in Wrestlemania?

There have been rumors of WWE return for Shawn Michaels lately.

The 50-year-old American has been retired from professional wrestling since 2010 but with injuries to the league's top stars, the former D-Generation X member is believed to be returning to the ring soon.

However, some fans also think that the ex-pro wrestler, known as Michael Shawn Hickenbottom in real life, is broke and his supposed return was something he requested to solve his money problem.

"Rumors that WWE contacted Shawn Michaels and offered a large amount for the retired star's return was brought about by the recent unfortunate injury bug that hit the wrestling scene," Youth Health Magazine.

"With John Cena still recovering from his shoulder injury and Daniel Bryan recently announcing his retirement due to serious concussions, WWE seems to be filling a void for someone like Michaels."

Money might not be the case why Shawn-Michaels-WWE-return rumors surfaced.

According to his friend and fellow Hall of Fame member Ric Flair, there is a low chance Michaels will return to the world's biggest professional wrestling event because of his business.

"They want him so bad for Royal Rumble, but he ain't budging from that ranch down there in Texas," Flair said during his "Wooooo! Nation" podcast claimed last January.

If Shawn Michaels returns to WWE, that could not be because he will compete for the grand prize. He will grace the event as a guest referee, according to another report.

"WWE is considering having Shawn Michaels be the special guest referee in the Roman Reigns vs. Triple H match, which is an idea that makes a ton of sense, as The Authority will likely want to stack the deck against Reigns in the WrestleMania main event," The Inquistr reported citing WrestlingNews.co as the source.

"Michaels has been heavily involved in some of Triple H's WrestleMania matches in the past, most notably at WrestleMania 28, where he was the special guest referee in the Undertaker vs. Triple H Hell in a Cell match, and he ended up hitting 'The Deadman' with the Sweet Chin Music, which led to Triple H hitting the Pedigree, and in that moment, many were convinced that Triple H was going to break Undertaker's legendary undefeated streak."
