‘The Revenant’ Seals Leonardo DiCaprio’s 2016 Oscar Awards Bid?
After being nominated for the Oscars, this 2016 is expected to be Leonardo DiCaprio's big year.
"The Revenant" has done quite well after being nominated for 12 categories in the Oscars 2016, including Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio.
The buzz about the 41-year-old actor even got stronger when he won the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2016 for "The Revenant," where he plays trapper Hugh Glass who was left for dead after he was mauled by a bear.
In the film, Leonardo DiCaprio pulled out all stops as he ate raw buffalo liver, bathed on icy waters and climbed a snowy mountain.
When he won the SAG Awards, the actor talked about playing Hugh Glass in "The Revenant."
"Every single day was a challenge with the weather and we had very intricate shots to pull off so, I mean, I take my hat off to the entire crew and the cast for sticking with this endeavor. It was almost like an epic journey, more so than doing the movie," he said, according to Hollywood Take.
However, the big question is will the Oscars 2016 be Leonardo DiCaprio's year to finally take home the trophy?
When has been asked about his expectation for this awaited win, actor finally spoke his heart out in,
"The truth of the matter is that I've been in situations before where I've thought films or performances, either mine or others, should be either nominated more or adored by the public, or critics should revere it more," he said, in the report shared by the Independent.
"But it's beyond your control" the actor added, "You've done the work, I do not know why I should be nervous. While you're on the set and you give everything, that's all you can do."
Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars 2016 along with Bryan Cranston ("Trumbo"); Michael Fassbender ("Steve Jobs"); Eddie Redmayne ("The Danish Girl") and Matt Damon ("The Martian").
