Justin Bieber regrets that he broke his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez's heart as he says that he was so immature when they were still in a relationship.

The "Love Yourself" hitmaker is said to feel sorry for what he has done with Selena Gomez, following her confession on W magazine about their past romance.

"It made Justin sad to read what Selena had to say about him and their relationship," a source told The Hollywood Life. "He still fully regrets breaking her heart and how he handled everything. It haunts him."

"It haunts him to know that Selena will never truly know how he wishes he could redo the past," the source added. "He admits he was young and immature."

In her cover story for W magazine, the "I Want You To Know" singer has clarified the possible rumors for a reunion with Justin Bieber.

"I'm so exhausted," Gomez said. "I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can't do it anymore."

Talking about her previous relationship with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez confessed that she really got her heart broken that she had a point where she did not know where to go, ABC News said in a report.

"At first, I didn't care," the former Disney star said. "To me it was: I'm 18, I have a boyfriend, we look cute together, we like that."

"Then I got my heart broken and I cared," she added. "Because people had no idea what was going on, but everywhere it was a million different things."

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had an on-and-off relationship for three years before they decided to call it quits in 2013.

Currently, the latter is dating model Samuel Krost while her ex is fuelling romance with model Hailey Baldwin.

The "Come & Get It" singer was also linked to German DJ Zedd, One Direction member Niall Horan, and Miranda Kerr's ex-husband Orlando Bloom.
