Jeremy Clarkson's New Show Only Available In Four Countries? Chris Evans Almost Quits 'Top Gear'

Last year, longtime "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson got sacked from the show after being involved in a physical altercation with one of its producers.

The 55-year-old presenter has since been replaced by radio personality Chris Evans, and recent reports claim that a new host will join the Radio 2 DJ to breathe new life into BBC's popular motoring program.

Earlier this week, "Top Gear" confirmed that "Friends" actor Matt LeBlanc will co-host with Evans on the show's return in May.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please be upstanding for your new Top Gear host... Mr Matt LeBlanc!" The official press release reads. "Yes, the fastest-ever 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' - he famously set an as-yet unbeaten lap time of 1m 42.1s in the Kia cee'd - will join Chris Evans when the new series premieres in May."

LeBlanc, 55, is a car enthusiast and owns several sports cars including a high-powered Porsche 997 GT2.

"As a car nut and a massive fan of 'Top Gear,' I'm honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show's new chapter," the actor said. "What a thrill!"

Meanwhile, Jeremy Clarkson is already finding ways to compete with his former program.

Unlike "Top Gear," the yet to be named show with Amazon will reportedly broadcast from different countries rather than being confined to a studio.

"I think the really interesting thing about it is, I think it's going to be very healthy having two big, essentially, international car programmes," Clarkson's co-host James May said in an interview with This Morning. "The thing people don't realise is it's actually very good that we have a credible rival and the two can spur each other on."

Jeremy Clarkson's untitled new Amazon show has no exact release date yet, although it is believed that it will premiere this fall.
