Tool Planning Two Music Videos To Support New Album; Guitarist Teases Songs Are 'Really Heavy'

Tool is currently shaping their much-awaited fifth album, and recent reports state that the band is also working on two new videos to support the record.

Guitarist Adam Jones recently revealed their plans at a recent Q&A on the band's Reddit.

"Adam talked a lot about the process they were going through on the new album," a Redditor said in a statement originally published by NYSK and carried on by Alternative Nation. "No one asked about the progress, so I can't tell you what the status of that was."

While the source did not mention anything about the new album or its release date, he did confirm that the group was working on two new music videos.

"What I did find very telling, however, was him talking about the progress they've made in producing the two music videos," the Reddit user explained. "It came out of him talking about using CGI vs stop motion work in Hollywood and his time as a visual effects artist." 

Many speculate that the band's decision to make music videos first indicates that they aren't finished yet with the new album. Despite rumors, Tool guitarist Adam Jones shared that the band's efforts on the album are going "really well."

"Things are really flowing and going really well, and I'm just blown away at the stuff that's coming together," Jones said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "I'm excited and can't wait for it to be done."

Regarding new material, the 50-year-old musician teased that some of the tracks are "really heavy," but assured that they "definitely" still sound like Tool songs.

"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones said in a separate interview with Rolling Stone. "We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it's really heavy, some of it's really complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool."

Tool has yet to announce an exact release date for their new album.
