Kia Motors launched the latest version of its K7 luxury sedan in an event at the InterContinental Grand Seoul Parnas on Jan. 26.

The fully modified second-generation K7 is designed under Kia's new design for future luxury sedans which has been highly supported by Z-shape elements in the front and the rear of its lamps, giving the car a sporty and speedy image.

According to The Korea Times, the car has been getting positive responses from customers, receiving over 7,500 pre-orders in two weeks following its exposure to media on Jan. 12. Consumers were drawn to the K7's improved driving performance, better fuel efficiency and cost competitiveness.

The most unique feature of its improved design is the tiger nose radiator grill - a three-dimensional tiger-like face with mouth, nose, nostrils, whiskers and a pair of very alert eyes, Bloomberg reported. Adding to its strong physical attributes is the "intaglio" look which gives the car a luxurious impression.

Peter Schreyer, chief automotive designer of Hyundai and Kia Motors, emphasized that the distinctive feature of the latest K7 model is its "charismatic" design.

First time equipped with its own front-wheel eight-speed transmission, the K7 provides more convenience in driving. The luxury sedan also features the KRELL sound system together with driving assistance features like Smart Blind Spot Detection, Advanced Smart Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking.

Kia has boosted the K7's durability by using advanced steel strengthm but without adding more weight to the vehicle. Offering 20 percent more body strength than its rivals Lexus ES350 and Toyota Avalon, the all-new K7 Luxury Sedan will be a tough competition to beat.

The company also plans to develop and launch a hybrid model in the second half of the year on top of four different types of power trains, including a 2.4-liter, 3.3-liter gasoline and 2.2-liter diesel models.

The price for the K7 depends on the power trains. Options range from $26,000 to $33,000.

The all-new Kia K7 luxury sedan will be available in the Middle East and United States in latter half of the year.
