NBA trade rumors: Kevin Durant says he's not thinking about future yet

The NBA trade rumors just went up another notch when a former MVP has been dragged into the conversation.

Reports have it that current champions Golden State Warriors, which looks more potent than ever based on their 2015-16 record, is targeting Kevin Durant in the next NBA free agency.

"The Golden State Warriors' plan of pursuit predates their 2015 championship run, a bold plot to declare the futility of resistance," Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski wrote.

"It isn't only that the NBA champions are determined to recruit Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, the truth is that they're the most intriguing destination to him. If Durant leaves the Thunder, the Warriors are the significant frontrunners to sign him, league sources told The Vertical."

There is a big buzz surrounding the future of the 2014 season MVP.

Before this latest NBA trade rumor from Wojanarowski, Stephen A. Smith, who KD35 once blasted for spreading false information, said Durant and his Oklahoma City Thunder partner Russell Westbrook might be headed to the Los Angeles Lakers in the near future.

"Keep in mind this," Smith said on the "Mason and Ireland" radio show.

"One of the biggest reasons I'm told that Kevin Durant may have the Lakers at the top of his list is because the Lakers have been led to believe, by whom specifically I do not know, but the Lakers have been led to believe that it is a very good chance that the following year Russell Westbrook is coming."

Although the swap will not happen this season, Wojanarowski said Durant does not have any concrete plans for his future yet.

"Durant is determined to win - to be an immediate championship contender at 27 years old - and that keeps bringing him back to the Warriors should he make the decision to leave Oklahoma City."

When the latest round of NBA trade rumors reached Durant, the former MVP was quick to distance himself from all the chatter.

"It's out of my control," Durant said. "Guys are going to write stories, write what they want to write about, but I just try to stay locked in where I am and try to be the best teammate and help my team win a championship."
