'Fire Emblem Fates' 3DS: Games To Be Sold Separately From The Special Edition Bundle?
Since Nintendo released the 3DS in 2011, the Japanese electronics manufacturer has been trying to extend the shelf life of their portable game console.
Over the years, we've seen multiple updates on its hardware, including a release of an XL version of the device.
Then came the special editions, where they bundle the 3DS along with the launch of the title.
However, the latest special edition, "Fire Emblem Fates," won't include the game itself.
According to Geek, the next special edition will coincide with the release of two "Fire Emblem" games, "Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest" and "Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright.
The special edition Nintendo 3DS XL will be covered in artwork inspired by the "Fire Emblem Fates," although neither of the two games will be included with it.
It will be available in North America on Feb. 19 for $199.00.
Gamers can purchase "Birthright" and "Conquest" separately from Feb. 19 at $39.99 each.
However, the publication revealed that one of the two games can be purchased for $39.99 and then claim the other title for $19.99 as a DLC from Nintendo.
But there's more, the third game, "Fire Emblems: Revelation," will be available for download for $19.99 starting March 10.
After that, Nintendo will release an 11 maps of the game as a DLC. The maps may be purchased individually or as a package for $17.99.
Another option is to purchase a complete package, which will include physical copies of all three games ("Birthright," "Conquest" and "Revelation") as well as an art book and a special 3DS XL carry pouch for $79.99.
The maps, however, will still have to be purchased separately, bumping the total price to $97.98.
"Fire Emblem" is a tactical RPG series developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo.
