Safari Browser Continues To Crash On Mac And iPhone Users; Developer Offers Solution

Mac and iPhone users just recently reported that their Safari browser is annoyingly crashing on them every time they open it for searching purposes.

Twitter world was bothered by numerous complaints about the Apple issue. Users were saying that the crash can be triggered by simply trying to enter search terms into Safari's address bar

According to The Verge's  report, Steven Troughton-Smith, an iOS developer, explained that the said issue is not affecting everyone and the users could do a workaround to temporarily fixed the problem.

"The problems are related to Safari's search suggestions feature. Simply disabling this feature will stop Safari crashing, or using the private mode option in the browser as a temporary workaround. Not everyone is affected, and this could be because some have the search suggestions cached locally or they're still able to reach Apple's servers thanks to a DNS cache," Smith reported.

Mac users were forced to reinstall certain pieces on their computer due to an expired security certificate used by Apple to verify apps. Some applications are also needed to be reinstalled because some of it are not supported by the newer standard, the report confirmed.

Apple users who fixed the problem by themselves said that for those people who still have a working copy of Safari should avoid actions that will reset their cache, such as turning on Airplane Mode, since once back online Safari will start trying to fetch suggestions if the feature isn't already disabled.

"The issue appears to manifest regardless of search engine choice, since they all inevitably flow through the same Apple API. People who are unaffected generally have suggestions cached locally, or else access to Apple's servers via a DNS cache. Devices with iOS 7 or earlier should be immune," Apple Insider  reported.

Though some Mac and iPhone users already fixed the problem, Apple hasn't commented yet about the matter.
