Caitlyn Jenner News Update: New Gender Now Legalized And Official As Petition Gets Granted In Court!

For those who still have to know who Caitlyn Jenner is, here's a news update: she is a new public figure who was once a former athlete who won the men's decathlon for US at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada.

She was formerly Bruce Jenner, who is also the biological father of socialite sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. As Caitlyn Jenner, the latest news update came on Friday as her request to legalize her name and gender change has been approved as reported by Reality TV World.

Caitlyn, 65, filed the petition earlier this month to fit her new identity as a transgender woman. After completing medical declaration and background check, Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg granted her petition to change her as Caitlyn Marie Jenner instead of her birth name, William Bruce. Vanity Fair added that she can also get documents such as driver's license, social security card and passport using her new identity.

Months before Caitlyn Jenner's news update, she came out as a woman in April, still under her birth name. She appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair two months later.

While this is good news on her side, other people who know her personally might need more time to get used to her new persona. Ex-wife Kris Jenner has always been calling her by her last name, while her children Kendall and Kylie are still calling her "Dad."

As for Caitlyn herself, she admitted that she still gets unwelcome negative attention from other people despite receiving public support regarding her transition from man to a woman, which includes threats of physical injury. She wrote this in a sworn statement from AP according to ABC News.
