While the world awaits boxing's upcoming big event between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley, Amir Khan's next fight is still up in the air.

According to reports, the third showdown between Pacman and Bradley would not have happened if Khan dealt with the right people. Reportedly, the British boxer could have been in the gym by now if his negotiators did the right thing as he prepares for what could be the biggest fight of his career.

During the Manny Pacquiao - Timothy Bradley fight press tour, the Filipino boxer confirmed that they have indeed discussed with Amir Khan's camp. However, it was not successful.

"Yes, before this fight with Timothy Bradley we were negotiating and trying to fix and get it done, this fight with Amir, but it didn't work out," he said according to a report by Sky Sports.

"There were a lot of middle men - in negotiations - a lot of representatives from him and that is the reason."

Back in November last year, it was reported that Amir Khan's next fight is against Manny Pacquiao. His camp even claimed they already signed a contract. However, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum refuted this and insisted there was no paper for him to sign.

Pacman's latest statement about Amir Khan is a bit different from his trainer's. Per Freddie Roach, it was the eight-division champion's broadcaster that did not want Khan for him.

"The thing is he's not a big pay-per-view draw," the Filipino boxer's trainer Freddie Roach told Boxing News when asked why Amir Khan was not selected for Manny Pacquiao's next fight.

"We had talks about him and I know him very well, he's a good boxer. His speed would give anyone in the world trouble, he's a very good fighter, but his name got thrown out very, very quickly by HBO. HBO didn't want that fight."

Right now, Amir Khan's next fight is still pending and his camp is yet to reveal the names they are choosing from. The British boxer's last fight was against Chris Algieri, which he won via a unanimous decision last April.
