‘Empire’ Season 2 Spoilers: Mariah Carey, Oprah Appearance Rumors Debunked! Season 3 Confirmed

"Empire" co-creator Danny Strong teased spoilers for season 2, particularly on the rumored appearance of Oprah Winfrey and Mariah Carey.

"None of those people are going to actually be on the show so I can't control what names all of a sudden take off as being guest stars because they're not," He told The Hollywood Reporter.

Reports of Mariah Carey and Opran Winfrey's appearance surfaced few months ago when Danny Strong revealed that he contacted the talk show host for a cameo role on "Empire" season 2.

However, the "Empire" co-creator later backtracked from his words, saying that Oprah Winfrey won't be appearing on season 2 because of her busy schedule, Billboard reported.

 "We just couldn't fit her into the schedule. She really wanted to do the show, but she's going to be on the next season for sure," he said.

As for Mariah Carey, Danny Strong also hinted that the "We Belong Together" singer will guest star on the show too.

Jussie Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon on "Empire," also sparked rumors of her appearance when he said that "he would love her to be in the show," IB Times added.

"I keep saying, and I hope they can make this happen, because she's one of Lee's closest friends, I really want to see Mariah Carey on the show," he told E! Online.

As Danny Strong didn't tease more "Empire" season 2 spoilers but he did say that they won't highlight many guest stars.

Due to the average "21.2 million viewers across multiple platforms and a 7.3 rating among adults 18-49 for its second season when including DVR playback," "Empire" season 3 has been confirmed for 2016-2017 time frame, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Cookie and Lucious Lyon returns on "Empire" season 2, episode 11, titled "Death Will Have His Day," when it premieres on Fox Wednesday, March 30. Watch out for more spoilers before then.
