Manny Pacquiao Next Fight News: Pacman Misses Boxing; Wants K.O. Over Timothy Bradley
Manny Pacquiao's next fight will take place almost a year after his last bout with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and the Filipino champ apparently thinks he has waited too long.
Pacman said he missed boxing and he is "excited to come back to training" for his April bout with Timothy Bradley.
The eight-division champ's next fight is three months from now, following his controversial loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May last year which was dubbed as "Fight of the Century." Manny Pacquiao usually fights twice a year but he was ordered to have a lengthy rest after he injured his shoulder prior to his match with Money.
So, what can people expect from Manny Pacquiao's next fight? The Filipino champ said he is going for the knock out.
"He can [only] be Timothy Bradley. I know his style," he told Philippine site Rappler.
"I'm trying to have a knockout in that fight. I'm not saying to predict the fight, but I'm trying to do my best so the people enjoy my last fight."
Pacman also commented on how hard it was for him to select an opponent.
Before the Manny Pacquiao - Timothy Bradley fight was announced, among the names that were considered were Amir Khan and Terence Crawford.
"It's not hard to make a decision to make a last fight," he explained. "This is the opportunity I have before I focus on the next hard work in my life. I'm not old, I'm still young. I just have to focus on my other job to help the people."
Manny Pacquiao's next fight will allegedly be his last. Although there are rumors it is not true as he might come back for one more against the now retired Floyd Mayweather, Jr., Pacman insists he will hang his gloves after Timothy Bradley.
"After my fight on April 9th, I'm going to retire from boxing," said the 37-year old Pacquiao according to PhilBoxing.com. "My April 9 fight against Timothy Bradley will be my last. I'm retiring from boxing to focus on my new job."
His new job is as senator of the Philippines. That is if he wins in the May election, one month before bout with Timothy Bradley. Although he has to focus on his political campaign, his trainer Freddie Roach insists he won't be distracted.
"One thing about Manny Pacquiao is once he walks in the boxing gym, all that other stuff goes away," the Boxing Hall of Fame member told Los Angeles Times.
"He's always dedicated, always works very hard, and I don't think that will change. Once he's in the gym, he knows what he's there for. It's still what he does best, and he knows that."
