'Suicide Squad' News: Jared Leto's Joker Earns Bad Review Despite Method Acting

Many fans are excited to see Jared Leto's portrayal of The Joker in "Suicide Squad." However, one review doesn't seem too impressed about his performance.

It has been previously reported that Leto went to great lengths for his Joker role in the DC movie.

"As a whole, the look of this new Joker is, in a word, insane. But not "insane" in terms of 'the Joker is crazy,' but rather "insane" in terms of how overstuffed the design seems to be," Looper wrote.

"Almost every inch of this guy is offering some kind of message, and none of them are particularly interesting (or necessary)."

The bad review also had a lot to say about Jared Leto's tattoos for the movie.

"All those "Ha" tattoos don't even fit with what appears to be a relatively curated bunch of ink," Looper added. "They're on his chest and then also on his forearm. That makes it look like the Joker went nuts one weekend to get every clown-themed tattoo he could pick off the shop wall. Then when he ran out he told the artist, 'just put a bunch of 'ha ha's anywhere else. I guess.'"

Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang in "Suicide Squad," previously dished out to MTV about how dedicated Jared Leto was to his role as The Joker.

"I don't think any of us are naïve to the pressure he's under," Courtney said. "It's not something I've talked about with him, but I've seen him working and it's cool, man."

When asked if Jared Leto has gone method acting for his "Suicide Squad" role, Courtney was quite unsure of the answer.

"Sort of," Courtney said. "I don't know how you measure that these days. I haven't seen him, since we started working, out-of-character, let's put it that way."

Jared Leto's The Joker will be witnessed on the big screen when "Suicide Squad" hits theaters August 5.
