TOMORROW X TOGETHER signs official partnership for global children's mental health advocacy

K-pop sensation TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) has partnered with UNICEF to address the growing youth mental health crisis through their new campaign "TOGETHER FOR TOMORROW."

The five-member group will meet with UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell at UNICEF headquarters in New York on September 30th to formalize the collaboration and outline their advocacy goals.

Mental Health Crisis Demands Action

An estimated one in seven adolescents aged between 10-19 lives with a diagnosable mental health condition and fifty per cent of mental health conditions develop before the age of 14. TXT's campaign aims to tackle this crisis by promoting empathy as the foundation for mental well-being.

The timing is critical. Gen Z consumes news more than any other content, with 6 in 10 feeling overwhelmed by current events. 4 in 10 still feel stigma around speaking out about mental health in schools and workplaces.

Why TXT Was Chosen

TXT's authentic connection to youth struggles made them ideal partners for this initiative. Their songs often reflect the struggles, concerns, and realities of youth, promoting values of empathy and solidarity.

The group's name itself reinforces the campaign's message - TOMORROW X TOGETHER represents how different individuals unite with shared dreams to build a better future.

Campaign Goals and Approach

"TOGETHER FOR TOMORROW" focuses on breaking down prejudices and encouraging understanding between young people. The campaign positions empathy as the starting point for mental health improvement, rather than traditional clinical approaches.

TXT stated: "We want to convey the message that together, rather than alone, we can create a more hopeful future. We hope that various activities with UNICEF will provide comfort and courage to many people."

High-Profile Launch

The September 30th ceremony will include:

  • Catherine Russell, UNICEF Executive Director
  • Kitty van der Heijden, UNICEF Deputy Executive Director
  • Cho Mi-jin, Secretary-General of UNICEF Korea Committee
  • Yoo Dong-ju, HYBE Music Group APAC Representative

Building on HYBE's Social Impact

This partnership extends HYBE's track record in social causes. As of March 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC, BTS, and its fan base worldwide have contributed more than 8.9 billion won (around US$6.6 million) through the LOVE MYSELF campaign for violence prevention and youth mental health.

HYBE emphasized finding "a partner that shares TXT's values of 'togetherness'" and recognized UNICEF's global leadership in mental health advocacy.

Global Funding Challenge

The partnership addresses urgent funding needs. UNICEF and coalition members are calling for a coordinated multi-sectoral response to address the global mental health funding gap of at least US$200 billion.

UNICEF projects a total income of $26 billion for 2026-2029 - a 27 per cent decline compared to the previous period. This is the most dramatic financial contraction UNICEF has faced in decades.

What's Next

TXT will continue touring their "ACT: TOMORROW" world tour while developing mental health advocacy content. The group has concerts scheduled through December 2025, providing multiple platforms to amplify their mental health message.

The campaign represents a shift toward celebrity partnerships grounded in authentic artistic alignment rather than superficial endorsements, potentially setting a new standard for entertainment industry social responsibility.

TXT consists of members Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai. They debuted in 2019 under HYBE subsidiary Big Hit Music.
