'Rick And Morty' Season 3 Update: Mr. Meeseeks And Evil Morty's Return Confirmed
Not long after Adult Swim confirmed the release of "Rick and Morty" season 3, several spoilers about what might be in store in the upcoming season immediately made headlines. As for the new update, two of the most awaited characters Mr. Meeseeks and Evil Morty are set to return in the third season.
Aside from dropping hints about what's to come in the Dog World as the new chapter opens in 2017, the new spoilers suggested that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will show more of the goofy Mr. Meeseeks.
The news about Mr. Meeseeks' comeback first sparked after the show's creator Dan Harmon said that though there won't be much plots from season 1 and 2 to be shown in the new chapter, he made it a personal promise to make Mr. Meeseeks' return possible in season 3.
"We've got a lot of little loose sweater threads we've sprinkled throughout one and two that we're going to come back and tie in a nice little bow in subsequent seasons." Harmon told reporters at the Comic Con.
Aside from Mr. Meeseeks, Evil Morty is also said to return with more of his back-story to be featured. Moreover, it has also been hinted that Evil Morty will make a comeback in "Rick and Morty" season 3 as the biggest villain, as noted by Movie Pilot.
Following the finale ending of "Rick and Morty" season 2, fans have speculated that the third franchise might focus on the aftermath on Rick's story after turning himself over to the Galactic Federation. However, Harmon was quick to explain that focusing the whole plot in one angle would only make the viewers lose their interests.
"I don't think anybody wants to do a third season that simply spends a whole bunch of episodes dealing with a situation that we created at the end of the second season." he said, according to Inverse. "So I think that's non-spoiler way of saying things should be okay pretty quickly."
While there has been no update about the official release date of "Rick and Morty" season 3, the thrid instalment is said to be out in 2017.
