Ian Somerhalder Giving Up ‘The Vampire Diaries' To Have Kids? Nina Dobrev's Ex Desperate?
Ian Somerhalder is reportedly desperate to become a dad as news reports claim he badly wants to have kids with Nikki Reed. This came amid news that his former "The Vampire Diaries" co-star and ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, is getting serious with boyfriend Austin Stowell.
Allegedly, the 37-year old actor is willing to give up his career, even leaving his hit TV series, so he and his wife can start a family. It has also been reported that Ian Somerhalder believes having kids will finally curb the divorce rumors surrounding their marriage.
But wanting to have a family is allegedly nothing new to the actor.
Per Movie News Guide, Ian Somerhalder's "want" to have a family is what caused his breakup from Nina Dobrev.
The former "The Vampire Diaries" co-stars went on to live separate lives following their split, with the actress eventually leaving the show.
Ian Somerhalder didn't seem to have a hard moving on from Nina Dobrev though as he went on to marry Nikki Reed in a private ceremony held in Malibu, California last April 2015. Although the couple has yet to come out from the honeymoon phase, they have already been flooded with divorce claims.
Some rumors even suggested that a separation is indeed in cards for the newly-wed couple very soon.
Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are allegedly not on the same page when it comes to having kids. While the actor wants a family right away, his wife allegedly prefers for both of them to focus on their career for the meantime, noted Morning Ledger.
"Nikki was recently cast for a role on Sleepy Hollow, so she is understandable excited to focus on that for a while. Settling down to have kids with Ian Somerhalder would obviously affect her acting career, and at 27 years old, she's right in the prime of it," it said.
On the other hand, Inquisitr reported the contrast between the relationships of exes Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev.
"While many continue to question the relationship status between Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, Nina Dobrev has reportedly going strong on boyfriend, Austin Stowell. She recently posted a number of affectionate pictures of her and Stowell on Instagram," the article stated.
But despite the divorce rumors, Ian Somerhalder got a meaningful tribute from Nikki Reed as the "Twilight" actress took to Instagram to greet "The Vampire Diaries" actor on his birthday.
The post read, "You are my every dream brought to life. With our hands pressed together I know that we will always find our way home. You are a gift to this world, a teacher of light and a student of love. You radiate warmth in vibrant reds and deep orange hues."
"I often wonder what it would be like to see autumn arrive through your eyes. Here is to the next 65 years together, holding hands, strolling through the woods, still learning, still listening. Happy happy birthday...I love you," she continued.
