'Pitch Perfect 3' Cast News: Anna Kendrick Out? Hailee Steinfeld To Lead Barden Bellas In Upcoming Instalment
"Pitch Perfect 2" cast member Hailee Steinfeld is returning to "Pitch Perfect 3" and is rumored to lead a new generation of Barden Bellas.
Series stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Brittany Snow have all been confirmed to appear in the third installment, although their characters have graduated from college. This left fans wondering - who will lead the beloved a capella group in the upcoming film?
Steinfeld, who debuted as Emily in the last film, has been rumored to lead a new generation of Barden Bellas and could potentially be the future of the franchise.
According to Bustle, Emily is a "fresh face" that is essential to the series and she could "bridge the gap between the old Bellas and the new by taking over as the leader in the next film."
Moreover, Steinfeld can actually sing. The 19-year-old actress landed signed record deal with Republic Records after her performance in the last sequel, making her undoubtedly capable of leading the "Pitch Perfect 3" cast.
Along with Steinfeld, the "Pitch Perfect 3's" cast features Anna Kendrick as Beca, Rebel Wilson as Patricia aka Fat Amy, Anna Camp as Aubrey, Hana Mae Lee as Lily, Ester Dean as Cynthia Rose, Brittany Snow as Chloe, Alexis Knapp as Stacie, Ben Platt as Benji, Skylar Astin as Jesse, Adam Devine as Bumper, John Michael Higgins as John, and Elizabeth Banks a Gail.
Banks also returns as director and producer, along with Gold Circle Entertainment's Paul Brooks and Brownstone Productions' Alex Handelman.
"Pitch Perfect" was adapted from Mickey Rapkin's book "Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory." The movie currently holds the record for the highest grossing musical comedy of all time. Entertainment Tonight reported that the movie will now premiere in theaters on August 7, 2017.
"Pitch Perfect 3" was inititally set to launch on July 21, 2017, but was delayed due to production conflicts with "Pacific Rim 2."
