Lamar Odom Heads To Rehab Following Drug Overdose? Khloe Kardashian's Ex Out Of Hospital
Lamar Odom seems to be all better following an "accidental fatal drug overdose" as he has been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Reportedly, the former NBA player and estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian is set to transfer in a rehab facility.
"The plan is to move him in the next few days," an insider said to Page Six. "At the center, Lamar will continue to receive therapy. He still has many challenges but is making progress. He is a fighter."
The basketball player has had a rough few years. Following his separation from the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star, his career has also taken a backseat. Additionally, Khloe Kardashian filed divorce papers last July but she called off the separation shortly after his incident.
Khloe Kardashian has been taking charge of the medical decisions related to Lamar Odom following his drug overdose.
As per Daily Mail, the rehab facility of Lamar Odom is located near the reality star's home in Calabasas, just to the west of LA. The location was reportedly decided upon so Khloe Kardashian will be able to visit and keep an eye on the former NBA star's ongoing care.
And while he's recuperating, Lamar Odom seems to be getting all the love and attention. His children- Lamar Jr., aged 13 and Destiny, 17- visited him over the holidays as they flew all the way from New York where they live with their mother, Liza Morales.
Lamar Jr. even documented their time together as he posted a selfie on his Instagram together with his dad and sister.
He captioned the image, "Christmas with my pops. Here's to 2016. Blessed."
Amid the care and concern Khloe Kardashian has for Lamar Odom, she made it clear that his recovery is all on the NBA player.
"'He has to walk that road by himself, and, most importantly, he has to want to walk that road. I will be there supporting him every step of the way," she previously told People.
It was reported that Lamar Odom spent four days in coma after a fatal overdose of opiates and cocaine in a Los Angeles bawdy house. The Kardashian and Jenner families gathered at his bedside when he was rushed to the hospital.
Wet Paint previously shared, "Lamar is looking great but he's not out of the woods yet. He's making slow progress, including being able to walk mostly without help and showing signs of improved memory and recognition. On the other, he's still struggling with speech problems and kidney damage."
