Guns N' Roses Reunion Confirmed; Lineup Includes Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan
Guns N' Roses fans are rejoicing following the confirmation of the band's reunion tour, as members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will take the stage at Coachella in April.
An official statement from the band reads, "Upholding a three-decade tradition of breaking ground, creating trends, and forever changing the face of rock 'n' roll, Guns N' Roses announce the most significant and anxiously awaited musical event of this century. Founder Axl Rose and former members Slash and Duff McKagan will regroup to headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival (April 15-17 & April 22-24)."
The reunion performance will mark the first time the three Guns N' Roses members share the stage together since 1993.
Bassist McKagan has made several onstage appearances with both Axl Rose and Slash in the past few years. However, Axl Rose and Slash had remained fractured up until the guitarist revealed last year that he and the vocalist are back on good terms.
Fans of the Guns N' Roses started speculating about a possible reunion when guitarists DJ Ashba and Ron Thal left the group.
Of the original Guns N' Roses lineup, only Axl Rose, Slash and McKagan have all been confirmed to perform at the reunion concert. It is still unknown whether past members like Gilby Clarke, Matt Sorum, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler will join the trio, according to Loud Wire.
Dizzy Reed who plays keyboards with the band is rumored to join the group, although he has yet to officially confirm if this is true. Drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Richard Fortus, who are part of the band's most recent lineup, are also rumored to join the group in case some of the original lineup will miss the party.
Following the confirmation of the Guns N' Roses reunion for the Coachella music festival, tickets were sold out in just one hour.
