Golden State Warriors Guard Stephen Curry Adamant To Play Despite Shin Injury; MVP Frustrated
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is suffering from a nagging shin injury but is putting on a brave front to help the squad win.
In a report from ESPN, Current MVP, Stephen Curry, aggravated the contusion on his left shin after the Warriors' recent game with the Los Angeles Lakers. His injured shin made contact with Roy Hibbert's leg.
"It's just frustrating and annoying and any other adjective you want to throw in there," Curry said. "Long-term, it's not something that I'll have to worry about. It's just playing through an injury that's there. It doesn't get worse if I play on it, unless I get kicked, and that's happened three times since I did it. So, hopefully, it won't keep happening again."
Golden State Warriors Interim coach Luke Walton cited Stephen Curry's determination to win the game.
"I wasn't going to put him back out there at first, but he was pretty adamant about it," said Walton about Curry who was asked to sit in the bench during the game due to concerns on his knee injury.
"I played with a guy like that," added Walton, likening Curry to Kobe Bryant.
According to CBS Sports, Stephen Curry initially injured his shin last Dec. 28 when Golden State Warriors played against the Sacramento Kings.
"I'm not going to sit out four weeks so just got to figure out how to protect it while I'm out on the floor and keep playing. We've done a good amount and just had a couple unlucky plays, and we'll keep addressing it," Curry averred about the trainers' advise for a 4-week rest so that his injury would be fully healed.
The Bleach Report cited that Stephen Curry missed two games for the Golden State Warriors at the end of 2015 due to his shin injury.
