Samsung Inc  has come up with an Universal Remote Code based on its Tizen OS, to control all devices at home.

The idea behind this smart remote control is that a single handy device could watch and control all the other appliances in one's home (ranging from TVs to smartphones).

"The Smart Control remote serves as a single control unit for nearly all devices connected to a Samsung Smart TV, eliminating the need for multiple remote controls," According to the statement from the company, which happened at CES 2016, as cited by FORTUNE. "For a TV with more than three external devices connected, on average, the Smart Control remote will consolidate multiple remote controls into one, seamless device."

The company, after announcing their new invention "The Samsung Universal Remote Code", has also promised improvements in their TV interface and other appliances.

With Smart control as its main feature, the unit has advanced a level higher. Rather than asking users to provide input codes for appliances, it determines on its own, all the products connected to the TV peripheral and takes control of them all automatically. After which, the universal remote maps the respective functional buttons and works accordingly.

The main component of this device is its ability to work with a wide range of appliances. Satellite and cable boxes will of course work with it. But it is also expected to control every other device - Be it game consoles to Blu-ray players. The company has said that the remote can also be cused to control other devices connected to the television. (No products specified in this regard, though).

They are competing with other rivalling companies by trying to eliminate the mess of remotes found in an entertainment center. According to Venturebeat, they aim to make 'Simplicity' a core facet of the company's 2016 Smart TV range with its smart remote control and an upgraded Smart Hub UI.

The tech giant hasn't yet specified what the cost will be for the unit. The release date hasn't been announced either. Also there's no clarity about how the device might be sold (if it would be given along with its new line of TVs or sold separately)

However, the company has desired to control all devices of the home via its Televisions. The new Samsung Universal Remote Code is likely to connect to smart home devices like cameras, lights, thermostats, etc via the Television.
