Maria Sharapova shared details about her net worth as well as her goal for the 2016 Brisbane International, which started on Sunday.

The Russian professional tennis player went to Brisbane, Australia as the undisputed champion for her category. As soon as she arrived at the airport, she said that her main goal for 2016 is to stay healthy.

Director of Brisbane tournament, Cameron Pearson said that, "Maria is one of the most recognisable faces in world sport and has won five Grand Slam titles, so we love having her in Brisbane,'' according to The Courier Mail.

She was ranked the first for sportswomen for the annual list made by Forbes with total earnings of $29.7 million from June 2014 until June 2015. These numbers were accumulated from her endorsement participations and prize money on her 11th consecutive year in the survey.

Maria Sharapova's net worth has been compared to her rival, Serena Williams, who won three titles from the 2015 Grand Slam which had her earn $24.6 million.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old tennis player recently went on stage along with Roger Federer at the Brisbane Town Hall who shared his wisdom to the young generation in Australia. During the Summer Nights party on Saturday, she was all smiles while on stage wearing a an all black outfit, Daily Mail reported.

She will be competing for Brisbane International Tennis Tournament premier tier that started on January 3 and will last until the 10th. The event will be followed by the Australian Open at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

The defending champion will go against Ekaterina Makarova for the first round of the competition. Reporters said that, "This was a grand slam semi-final last year in Australia," revealed Zee News.

"For a first match, it's a pretty high-quality match against a pretty tough opponent," the statement continued.

Despite her forearm and leg injury last year that claimed to have hindered her to play at the US open, Maria Sharapova's net worth wasn't shaken as she still ranked fourth in the world and third seed for the Brisbane International.
