'Thor 3' 2017 Casting Plot Rumors:  "Thor 3: Ragnarok" hits theaters on Nov. 3, 2017. Thor: Ragnarok is the highly-anticipated third installment in the Thor series, which will follow up 2011's Thor and 2013's Thor: The Dark World.

The third installment in the "Thor" franchise will take the god of thunder to a place we've never seen him before, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told  Empire magazine.

"The film takes place within the cosmos primarily, which is to say, frankly, very little Earth," Feige told Empire magazine.

"I don't think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie's going to be. It's going to be perhaps, as totally different from the two prior 'Thor' movies as 'Winter Soldier' was from the first 'Captain America.' We want to take it to new places. We've got new characters that will show how big we're swinging on this. And we have a Hulk."

Kevin Feige also talked about the gossip that Thor 3 will be done on a smaller scale than the previous versions.

"Smaller scale is all relative. It's going to be as big and spectacular a Spider-Man film as has ever been made. But it's a Peter Parker story and has more opportunity to be focused on the story of a 15-year-old kid going to high school," Feige told Empire magazine.

Feige said the sub-title Ragnarok doesn't mean the movie is about ut the end of Asgard or the Norse apocalyptic end of the world. Ragnarok is a cyborg super-villain clone of Thor that was created by Iron Man himself Tony Stark along with Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man) when they thought Thor died in the Asgardian/Ragnarok Apocalypse.

"I don't think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie's going to be," he said. "It's going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America," Feige said.

"We want to take it to new places, we've got new characters that will show how big we're swinging on this. And we have a Hulk."

Jaimie Alexander, who plays Thor's childhood friend and fellow Asgardian warrior Sif has been cast for Thor 3, according to IMDB. Zachary Levi told Comic Book Resources that he hasn't heard whether he will reprise his role as Fandral in Thor 3.

Chris Hemsworth will get to film the sequel to his Thor blockbuster in Australia next year. Hemsworth has a family home in Byron Bay.

"Attracting these two blockbuster films cements Australia's place as one of the world's best filming locations," Australia's Minister for Communications and the Arts Mitch Fifield said during a press conference. "Australian crews and actors will also gain the skills and experience to further strengthen our capacity to produce high-quality films for Australian and international audiences."

"Thor: Ragnarok" is set to hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
