‘Doctor Strange’ Movie Releases First Look; Benedict Cumberbatch First Time Donning His costume
Comic book fans and moviegoers alike were thrilled to get a preview of a first look in the much anticipated "Doctor Strange" movie to come out next year. Moreover, the first look will give fans a sneak peek of Benedict Cumberbatch wearing his costume as Dr. Strange for the first time, according to sources.
It was revealed in Entertainment Weekly's First Look issue of the week that Benedict Cumberbatch, who is playing the lead role in the upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie, tried his costume for the first time, according to Entertainment Weekly.
It was reported that the photo session of Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel's "Doctor Strange" movie was also used by the actor as a means to hone his gesticulations that are part of his character's spell-casting, as stated by the source.
"I'm still in the infancy of learning all that," the British actor stated in EW, courtesy of the source.
"It was like, okay, I've got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically," he added.
"I'm thinking, there's going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I'm still working on that. We haven't played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It's like anything, you just have to experiment," he further added.
It was reported that the costume revealed in the released photos of Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange in the movie seemed to have a huge amount of inspiration from Steve Ditko, who created the original comic book design, while polishing the look to make it more apt and realistic on screen, as stated by the ComicBook.
It was also reported that aside from Benedict Cumberbatch starring in the "Doctor Strange" movie, Tilda Swinton (who will portray Dr. Strange's mentor, The Ancient One), Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor (as the nemesis Baron Mordo) and Mad Mikkelsen will be joining the cast as well. Moreover, the movie, which will be released on Nov. 4, 2016, will be directed by Scott Derrickson and it will be written by Jon Spaiht, courtesy of Variety.
