2015 Texas Tornado Leaves 11 People Dead; Christmas Storm Hits Midwest With 13 Casualties

People celebrating the holidays in the US were shocked to hear news of Texas being hit by a series of powerful tornadoes that killed at least 11 people dead. Moreover, the Christmas storm also flooded the Midwest that resulted with 13 casualties, according to sources.

Three parts of the US were devastated with flash floods and tornadoes that were unleashed in the South, Southwest and Midwest over the Christmas holiday weekend that resulted in at least 43 counts of casualties, congested transportation and ruined buildings, as reported by Reuters.

The local officials of Garland in the state of Texas estimated that as many as 1,450 residences were either ruined or damaged by the succession of at least nine powerful tornadoes and the massive storm that hit over the Christmas holiday weekend, which left remnants of toppled trees, twisted powerlines and crushed automobiles, as stated by US News.

It was estimated that about 600 building in Garland Texas were either damaged or completely wrecked by the storm and tornadoes that relentlessly laid waste over the Christmas holiday weekend and forced people in a state of emergency, according to The Scoop Blog.

Over at Missouri, Governor Jay Nixon has already declared a state of emergency on Sunday as a massive storm over the Christmas holiday weekend plunged in and caused widespread flooding across the state that was expected to increase even more in the coming days, as stated by CNN Edition.

The overall tally of reported deaths caused by the massive storm and tornadoes over the Christmas holiday weekend have led to 43 casualties overall-11 in Texas, 19 in the Southeast, 8 in Missouri and 5 in Illinois (13 total in Midwest), as reported by Yahoo News.
