The North American game releases were published by NIS America. The genres of the game franchise are visual novel and graphic adventure. "Danganronpa 3" was announced earlier this year with a trailer at the Tokyo Game Show.
In addition, the game franchise focuses on a group of gifted high school students who are forced to play a dangerous game of deception and murder. Some students are killed by their classmates and the players must find clues to find the culprit.
Spike Chunsoft has now revealed the "Danganronpa 3" release date will be next year, according to sources. The game will be launched on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStaition Vita in Japan. The game developers have now released a new trailer, which can be viewed below.
The new trailer features the strange Monokuma and his newest victims for the new iteration.
"Danganronpa 3" will be focusing on bluffing as a player mechanic, according to Destructoid. The trials will rely on lying to take down an opponent's argument. The robot animals that fans have seen in the games will be appearing like Monomi and Monokuma.
In addition, the new "Danganronpa" will take place in a fresh academy. It will focus more on a "psycho cool" feel.
There is still no official release date for the game in North America, Europe and other territories yet, but game websites speculate that it might come to the West on mid-to-late 2017.
