SEVENTEEN Hoshi Woozi Military Enlistment September 2025: Dates, Final Activities & Impact

Two more SEVENTEEN members are set to begin mandatory military service as the K-pop group continues its phased enlistment approach. PLEDIS Entertainment announced that Hoshi and Woozi will enlist in September 2025, marking another significant milestone in the group's military service timeline.
Woozi will enlist for active duty on September 15, 2025, with Hoshi following on September 16. Both members will serve as active-duty soldiers, joining fellow SEVENTEEN members who have already begun their military obligations.
The announcement comes after the duo had previously shared their plans during the group's March 2025 fan meeting. Hoshi revealed they would enlist in the second half of 2025 after celebrating SEVENTEEN's 10th anniversary together.
Before their departure, both members will complete several scheduled activities:
- HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT [WARNING]: A five-city tour spanning July 11-13 in Seoul, July 19-20 in Busan, July 26-27 in Taipei, August 6-7 in Japan, and August 23-24 in Gwangju
- SEVENTEEN 5th Studio Album Fan Signing: Video call event for their latest release
- Pre-recorded Content: Various materials prepared to maintain connection with fans during their absence
The group is managing military enlistments in a staggered approach:
- Jeonghan: Enlisted September 26, 2024; expected discharge March 25, 2026
- Wonwoo: Enlisted April 3, 2025; serving alternative service with projected return January 2027
- Hoshi & Woozi: September 15-16, 2025 (active duty)
Four members will not serve: Joshua (U.S. citizen), The8 and Jun (Chinese citizens), and S.COUPS (exempt due to ACL injury). S.COUPS was classified as Grade 5 following knee surgery and rehabilitation, exempting him from peacetime service.
Vernon, despite dual U.S.-Korean citizenship, must enlist by his 30th birthday in February 2028 as he chose Korean citizenship.
Following enlistment, Hoshi and Woozi will not participate in SEVENTEEN's group activities but will stay connected through pre-recorded content. The remaining non-enlisted members plan to continue group activities during this period.
Group leader S.COUPS expressed optimism: "I think this can be a great opportunity for the members who are still remaining; [they] can stick together and make something great to showcase to the fans".
PLEDIS Entertainment has requested fans respect the enlistment process. The agency asked fans to "refrain from visiting the site in person" and send support messages through Weverse instead.
The announcement has generated emotional responses from CARATs worldwide, with fans noting this represents "2/3 of leader line" temporarily departing as both are unit leaders within SEVENTEEN.
With nine members required to serve, SEVENTEEN's complete reunion is projected for approximately 2029. The group has prepared extensively for this transition, ensuring continuity through pre-recorded content and solo projects while maintaining their commitment to fans during the military service period.
