Korean netizens have voiced their concern regarding Mnet's newest dance show 'Street Woman Fighter' after fans pointed out that there is an unfair advantage for other groups on the show when it comes to video views.
Netizens have called out for the removal of video views from the criteria in Mnet's 'Street Woman Fighter', after all, according to the viewers it gives groups who have celebrity connections an upper hand. The show has gained massive popularity over the course of its airing, as it showcases groups of women dancing it out to find the best female dance crew in South Korea.
This is not the first time that 'Street Woman Fighter' has gotten backlash. A few weeks back upon its launching, fans noticed that there is no cash prize for the winning team, only recognition, and a trophy. Fans pushed for a cash prize, which Mnet bowed down to.
Now, the viewers of 'Street Woman Fighter' are asking for one more thing and that is to remove the view count. An online discussion has been up and running with hopes that Mnet will notice their cries.
Others have also given an example; such as BLACKPINK's Rose blatantly supporting the dance team YGX. Rose has posted on her social media multiple times regarding YGX, which has increased their chances of winning exponentially.
Netizens commented that if all of Rose's followers watch the YouTube video of YGX it would have so many views. Others commented that the promotions don't really give an unfair advantage to the other groups.
YGX was also the winning team for the challenge of appearing in South Korean rapper Jessi's music video for her single 'Cold Blood'. The music video was dropped today, with the YGX crew as the backup dancers of Jessi, it has been known for quite some time that they will be making an appearance for Jessi's music video.
