LG Electronics Inc. had confirmed that it has collaborated with two other partner companies to help them develop the next generation technology 6G network, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company had partnered with an electronic test and measurement company that's based in the United States, Keysight Technologies Inc., and South Korea's top research university, the reputable Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST).

The three institutions are said to be cooperating in the development of technologies that are related to terahertz, an essential frequency band for the 6G communications, as stated under their agreement.

LG Electronics had said that the company had been expecting the 6G network to be commercialized after its study for eight years, on the year 2029. The network is said that could provide a faster data speed, with lower latency and reliability that's higher than a 5 Generation network, and will be able to carry out the Ambient Internet of Everything (IoE) concept, which gives a better connectivity experience to its users.

The Ambient Internet of Everything (IoE) is a new concept that primarily focuses on the machine to machine sensor-based communications using a smart device. This would expand the capability of collecting huge amounts of data for extensive analysis in order to achieve a higher level of understanding that was previously impossible.

The LG Company, with KAIST, had already established a research center with a 6G network in 2019 and had signed an agreement last year with the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science to study 6G technologies.

The Keysight Technologies is a major 6G terahertz test equipment supplier and had been providing LG and KAIST's 6G research center equipment to carry out their research goals.

The company targets to complete the 6G development research by the year 2024.
