Taylor Swift Cancels Lover Fest Shows
Taylor Swift has canceled all of her Lover Fest pending tour dates due to coronavirus disease's ongoing threat.
The "Love Story" singer was supposedly had a small slate of shows scheduled for last summer to support her 2019 album lover, but due to the pandemic, the tour was all postponed.
"I love coming on here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you," Swift wrote on her Instagram and Twitter accounts. "It's not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I'm sad about. I'm so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we've postponed. Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets" - and, she affirmed, "I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule."
She continued, "This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone's plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can't wait til we can all safely be at shows together again."
Taylor Swift was poised to make history on her Lover Fest scheduled on July 25 and 26, 2020, as the first woman to open an NFL stadium at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles; unfortunately, it won't happen at this time with the presence of the virus.
The artist has been busy dropping albums and new music materials since the release of the album "Lover."
Taylor Swift will release a re-recorded album Grammy-winning sophomore LP and be called "Fearless (Taylor's Version)." Taylor is expected to re-record all six of the albums following a dispute with her old label Big Machine over ownership of her masters.
