Miley Cyrus has finally opened up about the reason that has led to her split from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

Although the couple had been in an on-off relationship for years, they were barely married for a year before they announced their separation. In an interview with Howard Stern, she admitted that the fire that burned their home to the ground had something to do with the failure of their relationship.

Miley and Liam had been together since they were 16 years old. They met while they were filming the movie "The Last Song" where they played the lead characters. They started dating in 2009 but had breakups in between. They got engaged in May 2012 before ending it in September the year after. By March 2016, they got back together and got engaged again in October of the same year.

The fire that Miley was talking about was the Woolsey Fire that ravaged many homes in Malibu. The singer was not around during the event, and it was up to Liam to save their pets as the fire engulfed their home in flames. Nothing was saved, and Miley claimed the loss of her possessions made her hold on more to Liam which led to a hastily planned wedding in December 2018. But it turned out to be a bad decision as they had too much conflict in their marriage. But Miley confessed that she will always love Liam.

After divorcing, Miley moved on and had a relationship with longtime friend Cody Simpson while Liam moved back to Australia and is said to be in a relationship with model Gabriella Brooks.

Aside from talking about Liam, Miley also talked with Stern about her collab with singer Dua Lipa for the song "Prisoner". She also admitted to having a hard time being sober this year.
