SHINee’s Minho Really Wanted To Be A Soccer Player, But Dad Was Against It
If he were not a K-pop idol, SHINee's Minho could have been a soccer player had he not given up on that dream. But on the June 25 episode of JTCBC's Please Take Care of My Fridge, the singer/rapper revealed why he had taken a different career path.
For fans of Minho, it's a well-known fact that he plays soccer like a professional and that he's also naturally competitive. It makes a lot of sense, given his father, Choi Yoon Gyeom, is the coach of Busan's professional soccer team, Busan IPark.
Why Minho Gave Up Soccer
You'd think being a son of a soccer coach would immediately qualify you to become a professional soccer player, but this wasn't the case for Minho. The singer said that his father had always been against the idea of him playing soccer. When he asked why, his father said, "I would've let you play if you were [as good as] Son Heung Min, but you weren't that good."
Many were saddened about Minho's confession, but good on him for taking the criticism well. And had his father permitted him to play soccer, the world wouldn't have had a lovable Minho in SHINee.
Minho's Fridge
On the same show, the K-pop idol proudly showed the contents of his fridge, which impressed the hosts and chefs of the show. Minho's fridge is from the one where he and Onew dorms, which he said is always full because they have a housekeeper who cooks well.
It's also surprising to know that SHINee still dorms after all these years, but Minho said he's fairly comfortable sharing a house with his fellow members. Their fridge definitely made an impression, giving an insight into what the star likes to eat and drink.
Now, fans of Minho know that he likes to drink sports drinks, is fond of eggs, and he must have kimchi during his meals. You can check out Minho's fridge below.
