Descendants of the Sun is not loved just for its unique story but also for Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's style and fashion. In fact, the 32-year-old star's iconic eyewear, which is a black Ray-Ban aviator, is often imitated fraudulently. Fortunately, the one doing this was nabbed by the police on June 28.

According to hellokpop.com, the accused, who has the family came Cai, was arrested in Taiwan for the suspicion of selling counterfeit products. Their best-selling merchandise is Song Joong Ki's glasses from the Descendants of the Sun.

Aside from the fake iconic Song Joong Ki Ray-Ban sunglasses, the suspect was also selling imitated Gentle Monster eyewear worn by Jun Ji Hyun in My Love from the Star. All in all, the suspect was caught selling about 515 pieces of imitation sunglasses carrying different luxury brands like Gucci, Dior, and a lot more. According to the report, the total value of his counterfeit goods is 5 million TWD or US$164,300.

The victims reported Cai to the police after they found out that the Ray-Ban sunglasses' coating can easily be removed with just a scratch of the fingernail. Law enforcement even had information that a Facebook user, with name Winson Txxx, was publicly selling imitation products, like what Song Joong Ki used to wear in Descendants of the Sun.

The police carefully planned to catch the suspect by sending undercover customers to visit his shop a number of times. This was their way to gain the shopkeeper's trust and show his illegal counterfeit products.

According to the prosecutors, the moment the police started the raid, the seller carefully mixed the original and counterfeit products together. They even have an enticing promotion to attract more customers. "Well-known brand direct factory price! With lens and frames less than 1,500 TWD," its ad noted.

When a poor victim is about to buy the goods, the suspect would just bring out the counterfeit goods. The accused was also providing fake QR codes to make the products look original. As the counterfeit goods look exactly like real ones, it is difficult to determine the difference between the two products. The police even sent four pairs of the sunglasses overseas to be examined by the original manufacturers.
