Back in their days, Backstreet Boys were the king of boy bands. Now, it's BTS. The 90s boy group has acknowledged the talent and accomplishments of their contemporaries, saying the Korean act has been offering their fans a "full entertainment package" like they use to do.

In an interview with radio station 95.5 PLJ, the Backstreet Boys praised BTS for their music and dancing skills. BSB members Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell said they could relate to what BTS has been experiencing today in every stage they perform.

"It's kind of like the reverse of what we used to do when we first started, when we would go over to other countries and sing out songs in English, and then we'd come there and see fans singing every single lyric as we were performing. We'd be just dumbfounded. This is incredible. So it's kind of like the reverse happening," said Carter.

Dorough admitted that BTS is the first boy group that could do the same thing that BSB had done in the past. He said over the years, whenever they were asked if any of the new boy bands were able to do the same thing that they had done, they always answer "no" until BTS came. For BSB, the K-pop group is the first boy band that came after them that could give a "full entertainment package."

"What I love about them is that they perform, first and foremost. They can sing. They can rap," Carter said.

"Those boys can move!" McLean exclaimed before adding that to dance like the BTS members, he would need to take a lot of painkillers.

Earlier this month, the American boy band revealed that they are fans of the K-pop group. They even invited BTS to their concert. Backstreet Boys first learn about BTS through their mutual friend and collaborator Steve Aoki.

The two groups finally met for the first time at the backstage of the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas last month. In the event, BTS performed their new single, "Fake Love," and also won the Top Social Artist award from 2018 BMAs.

As for BTS, the septet has talked in the past about growing up listening to Backstreet Boys and other boy bands in the 90s. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have also expressed gratitude for being compared to the best boy group in the past era.

BTS is currently promoting their latest album, Love Yourself: Tear. The K-pop idols are set to kick off their 2018 world tour, titled "BTS World Tour: Love Yourself", next month. Meanwhile, Backstreet Boys has released their latest single, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," and a new album is expected to drop before the year ends.
