CL New Album Update: 2NE1 Alum Leaks Audio Clips Of Upcoming Single
It seems like K-pop idol CL has already lost her patience in waiting for YG Entertainment to release her new album. She took it upon herself and leaked two audio tracks from her upcoming LP.
CL's fans, who are called GZBs, have been waiting for their idol's comeback album. CL dropped her most recent album, Lifted, in summer 2016. She also recorded the official soundtrack of My Little Pony: The Movie, titled "No Better Feelin'" last year. Since then, her fans have been demanding CL's manager Scooter Braun and YG Entertainment to release her new album.
On Tuesday, the 2NE1 alum shared on her Instagram account some audio clips, presumably from her upcoming LP. The clips were already deleted, but some fans have saved and re-uploaded the teasers on CL's fan accounts on several social media platforms.
CL's posts feature what seems to be an artwork that was smudged with black ink. She captioned the posts: "My "My diary + @scooterbraun" and "+." CL can be heard singing and rapping in the snippets in both Korean and English languages. The first clip is about 41 seconds while the second audio clip is only 21 seconds.
This is not the first time CL teased her highly-anticipated new album. On New Year's Day, CL also gifted her fans with a 90-second music video of her unreleased song "All In." She revealed that she shot the video a long time ago, but she wasn't able to release it. CL said she loved the MV and was disappointed that her fans were not able to see it.
"Showing this little bit that I am able to may get me in trouble. But it's worth the risk," CL wrote. The Instagram post has been deleted since.
Earlier this year, the K-pop singer also teased her upcoming album when she wrote on Instagram "+GZBzareuready+." One of her fans asked her what CL had in store for them. The singer revealed that she had done a new album but is still waiting for YG Entertainment to release her brand new music.
CL previously promised her fans that she would release a new song in 2017. She reportedly spent time in the United States to work on her new LP. CL also previously talked about the pressure she has been experiencing throughout the process of making the new album.
