The Big Bang Theory cancellation rumors never died down after speculations that it would end by Season 10 started. Obviously, that didn’t happen. In fact, the popular American television sitcom was actually picked up for Season 11 and Season 12, but is the 12th season its last? Jim Parsons reacts to the new claim.

The Big Bang Theory cancellation rumors all began when Kunal Nayyar, who plays Rajesh Koothrappali on the show, seemingly hinted that Season 10 might be the end of the line for the hit show. The actor revealed, at the time, that, “I know people are gonna want to know what happens after season 10. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

On top of that, it took a little while for Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper), and Johnny Galecki (Leonard Hofstadter) to renew their contracts, which concerned a lot of fans. Their contract at the time only allowed them to reprise their roles until The Big Bang Theory Season 10, so many were convinced that it would be the last installment, igniting The Big Bang Theory cancellation rumors even more.

However, the confirmation of The Big Bang Theory Season 11 and The Big Bang Theory Season 12 finally slammed all the exit speculations. But just because the show was picked up for two more seasons, it doesn’t mean that people will stop thinking about its possible ending.

As a matter of fact, the latest The Big Bang Theory cancellation rumor is that it will not go past the 12th season. To make matters worse, Jim Parsons didn’t deny the claims, although he didn’t confirm them either.

“I think anything’s possible,” said Jim Parsons, regarding all the talks about The Big Bang Theory cancellation. “There hasn’t been a cast and producer discussion about the future of our show,”

He then talked about the camaraderie on the show and revealed more than anyone had anticipated. “I think it’s related to some sort of appreciation of each other, that like family, we were able just to take it for granted because we knew we were going to be here next week," he said. "And now the weeks might be getting shorter. You just don’t know.”
