‘Westworld’ Season 2: Expect The Unexpected
'Westworld' Season 2 is almost here bringing fans with ten episodes that will be epic to make up for the long wait. The first season of the hit HBO original series was the most-watched. The showrunners of the show Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy made sure that fans are in for unexpected twists and turns. Watch out, spoilers ahead.
The season 2 of 'Westworld' is named by Nolan and Joy "The Door" and the first episode is titled "Journey Into Night." There are Delos theme parks that are operational while others are still under construction. One of the parks is in old Japan called Shogun World. However, the showrunners keep mum about the other parks.
"We want to blow the sets up when we are done and move on to another piece of the story," they said.
Aside from this, the HBO series is known for it's great taste in music. Season 2 will welcome Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box" with a slower tempo. Kanye's "Runaway" was also heard in the trailer that was shown during the Super Bowl.
"The idea is to keep in mind that it's a Western theme park with robots," composer Ramin Djawadi said.
When it comes to the show's characters, there is still no confirmation yet on who's returning and who's coming in.
Teddy, Maeve, Dolores, and Bernard were still alive in the first season but the network hasn't given details yet on the list of characters that are returning for Season 2. Fans are also curious to know if Ford is returning. In the last season, he was shot dead but that's all we know so far.
Despite the secrecy, Nolan assures fans that season 2 of the show will be twice as ambitious as the first.
"We always knew that we wanted the stakes and the scope to increase dramatically and that means the scale of production increases as well. With this show, we never had any intention of staying in one place. We don't want to shoot on the same sets for 10 years," he said.
'Westworld' Season 2 will premiere on April 22.
