‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Season 9 Episode 15 Will Revisits Granger’s Life, Callen’s Squad to Team Up With Granger’s Spy Daughter
The NCIS squad in Los Angeles will be facing what seems to be a terrorist attack in the city. To avert the catastrophic event, the team will enlist the help of NCIS Assistant Director Owen Granger's daughter. The upcoming episode of NCIS: Los Angeles Season 9 will also feature the aftermath of the team's rescue mission to save Hetty in Vietnam.
In the upcoming episode, titled "Liabilities," the squad will be on high alert upon learning that a bomb might go off in LA. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and his team need to track down an underground spy who allegedly got hold of an arsenal of explosive materials.
Callen and Sam (LL Cool J) will pull Granger's (Miguel Ferrer) daughter, Jennifer Kim (Malese Jow), from the witness protection program to help them locate the spy. Jennifer previously worked as a spy but when she was placed under the witness protection program, she had to give that all up.
This will be the first time the NCIS team will reach out to Granger's family since he disappeared. In Season 8, Granger was stabbed by the mole in the squad but he survived. Then an assassin tried to poison him. Granger decided to leave the team to "tend to some old business." In real life, Ferrer died of cancer last year.
Hetty is Back!
In the previous "Goodbye Vietnam" episode, the squad successfully rescued Hetty (Linda Hunt) from her captors in Vietnam. Callen, Sam, Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) along with Hetty's war veteran friends and the team at the LA office joined forces to look for her. Fortunately, they were able to locate her in time before her captors kill her.
In the upcoming episode, it is expected that Hetty will pay a visit to her old office or possibly reclaims her post from Mosley (Nia Long). The NCIS: Los Angeles social media accounts shared a photo of Henrietta Lange seated on her NCIS office and it is captioned, "Back where she belongs." Moreover, Olsen earlier hinted that Hetty, or Hunt for that matter, is staying in the show.
"Listen, this is who she is. It's her identity. There's always this romanticized version of what we want to do "after work," but her work is so deeply embedded and ingrained in who she is that this is her. She's going to do this - hopefully forever. And I say that not only as a character but as an actor on the show. Everything is better with Linda Hunt, and everything is better with Hetty Lange," Olsen told TVLine.
NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
