Valve Corporation's Dota 2 has always allowed the gamers to dive into the game at completely zero cost. Now, Valve has decided to make it a little bit different by adding a subscription-based service for free-to-play MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), the Dota Plus.

Evolution of the Battle Pass

Dota 2's new monthly subscription service Dota Plus is described as an "evolution of the Battle Pass."

The official Dota 2 blog site cites that new features and content will be updated from time to time.

It further elaborated that Valve released two types of Battle Passes earlier. The first of Battle Passes center around the Majors whilst the second on the International. Judging on the latest introduction of the Pro Circuit, the company is able to replace Major Battle Passes with a totally new type of service. This would not depend on a specific start and end date, whereas adding features and content is always possible.

What other new features the players can avail in Dota Plus

According to the official blog, Majors Battle Pass will be an ongoing process. The players will get an opportunity to improve Dota Plus and make progress in every match by earning Shards.

These Shards are new currency which can be utilized to unlock rewards. The Plus Assistant can also be used that would assist you in problems. These suggestions are based on inputs accumulated from millions of recent games at each skill bracket. The players can understand their playing style by going through both new graphs and analysis tools at any time - during the match or after it is completed.

The price of Dota 2's Dota Plus is kept very low for the convenience of the gamers, and mainly to retain the video gamers from across the globe.

It costs only $3.99 or £3 per month with small discounts going down to £32 for a year. The old Battle Passes will cost only $10, coming two or three times every year, as reported by Rock Paper ShotGun.
