Isobel Bowdery, Bataclan Hall Survivor Release Statement; Recounts Experience On Facebook!
South African graduate Isobel Bowdery, is one of the survivors of the terror that happened at the Bataclan Concert Hall Friday night, in Paris, according to The Guardian.
The Bataclan Theatre is a popular concert venue in the tenth Arrondissement.
The 22-year old described the fear, horror and how she pretended to be lifeless among the dead in a Facebook post. Along with the post, was a picture of the blood stained shirt she wore to the concert.
"(sic) you never think it will happen to you," wrote Isobel Bowdery. "It was just a friday night at a rock show. the atmosphere was so happy and everyone was dancing and smiling. and then when the men came through the front entrance and began the shooting, we naiively believed it was all part of the show," cited The Telegraph.
The attackers broke off into three teams and carried out shooting and bombing attacks across Paris, Friday. The terrorists left 128 people dead and approximately 200 people injured.
The terrorist group ISIS, also known as the Islamic State, confirmed and claimed responsibility for the attacks, revealed Business Insider.
"France and those who follow its path must know that they remain the principle targets of the Islamic State," said the terrorist group in a statement released in French, English and Arabic.
Bowdery shared that she had to hold her breath and tried her best not to move. She described that the floor of the concert hall was filled with blood and dozens of people were being shot in front of her.
Isobel had to pretend she was dead for over an hour.
"Cries of grown men who held their girlfriends dead bodies pierced the small music venue," shared Isobel. "Futures demolished, families heartbroken. in an instant." For Bowdery, it wasn't just a terrorist attack, it was a massacre.
Despite the horror, Isobel Bowdery said she will continue to see the good in people. In her post, she thanked the strangers that showed kindness towards her during and after the attacks.
80 people were killed in the attack on the Bataclan Concert Hall.
