Harry Styles To Headline #GucciTailoring Campaign, MIA in Oscars 2018
Harry Styles' fans are about to receive a treat despite disappointment over his absence in the recent Oscars 2018. The One Direction singer is about to be featured in the upcoming campaign for the Italian luxury brand, Gucci.
Gucci made the partnership announcement in a photo posted on their official Instagram account over the weekend. It shows Styles' tattooed and suited hand while petting a dog.
"Hand and hound: peeking on set with @harrystyles for the new #GucciTailoring campaign," Gucci captioned the photo.
Following Gucci's post, many fans were eager to see Styles in the recent 90th Annual Academy Awards in his Gucci suit. Unfortunately, he did not attend the event. Many are wondering why he missed the biggest night in the Hollywood considering his movie, Dunkirk, is nominated in eight categories including the Best Picture. The Christopher Nolan war drama won three awards - Outstanding Film Editing, Outstanding Sound Editing, and Outstanding Sound Mixing.
Styles nor his rep did not release a statement explaining his absence in the Oscars. It looks like Styles is busy preparing for his upcoming world tour that is scheduled to kick off in Switzerland on March 11. Another possible reason is that awards event for movies is not appealing for Styles. It can be noted that he did not appear in Golden Globe Awards earlier this year as well as in BRIT awards last month.
Harry Styles Love For Gucci
Style has been known to be an avid fan of the Italian fashion house's creations. The relationship between Gucci and Styles goes years back. He has been seen in sporting the brand's sophisticated suits for years, even when he still performs with 1D. It also dressed him in the custom outfit for his 2017 solo tour. Even in his music video for "Kiwi," Styles was also seen wearing a Gucci suit that matched his mini-me's suit.
The "Sign of the Times" singer has been praised and admired for his fashion style throughout the years. In fact, he is in GQ's 2017 list of 50 Best-Dressed Men. Most of the time that people took notice of his outfit is when Styles wore the Gucci brand.
Moreover, Styles and Gucci previously supported "March for Our Lives" petition which is about gun control. It aims to stop mass school shootings in America. Gucci reportedly pledged half a million dollars for the cause, while the English singer signed the petition and also urged his over 31 million followers on Twitter to do the same. With the upcoming advert with the apparel giant, it is expected that Styles will be seen in more colorful and elaborate outfit design.
