Many fans are now excited about the release of The Winds of Winter novel, which has been delayed many times over. George R.R. Martin has been keeping details about the sixth book of the A Song of Ice and Fire series under wraps for years. This pushed fans to speculate and guess on what they should expect in the much-awaited book.

Recently, George R.R. Martin confirmed that The Winds of Winter is not arriving this year. Instead, the 69-year-old author announced that the first installment of the Fire and Blood series would be completed in a few weeks. GRRM previously wished that he could release TWOT and the first FAB book together in "late 2018 or early 2019," The Inqusitr reported. However, based on his most recent statement, this is not happening.

"Whether WINDS or the first volume of FIRE AND BLOOD will be the first to hit the bookstores is hard to say at this juncture, but I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018... and who knows, maybe two. A boy can dream..."

For starters, Fire and Blood is a series that would tackle the fake histories in Westeros. Its first installment, which is arriving before The Winds of Winter, would explain the history of Westeros. This would include the infamous civil war of the Targaryens. It would also cover Aegon's conquest up to the regency of King Aegon III.

The second Fire and Blood book, on the other hand, is expected to include the history from the time of King Aegon III up to Robert's rebellion. Aside from that, George R.R. Martin also hinted that there might be more A Song of Ice and Fire novels after The Winds of Winter. Express shared fans started speculating that the popular series might be extended when GRRM wrote: "I don't consider A Song of Ice and Fire a series either; it's one single story, being published in (we hope) seven volumes."

Meanwhile, Primadonna previously shared that The Winds of Winter could possibly arrive after Game of Thrones Season 8. Speculations suggest that George R.R. Martin has vowed to HBO that he would not release any material that would destroy the "excitement factor" of the imminent new installment. Some fans even suggest that this is the network's technique to keep them guessing about the fate of the show's major characters.

While these rumors could be true, it is important to note that neither George R.R. Martin nor CBS has confirmed anything as of yet. Hence, devoted followers of the A Song of Ice and Fire series should take these unverified claims lightly until everything is proven true and correct. Stay tuned for the latest news and updates about The Winds of Winter!
