Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has expanded its product line-up with the launch of Oppo A79 smartphone in China. The company has priced the smartphone at 2,399 Yuan and it will go on sale in the country starting December 1. The smartphone is up for pre-order on the company's official website in China, available in Black and Champagne color options.

The Oppo A79 comes with a full-screen display supporting 18:9 aspect ratio. The device sports a 6-inch FHD display with 1,080x2,160 pixel resolution. The screen is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass and has minimal bezels on the sides. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 processor, as reported GSM Arena.

It offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded further by adding a microSD card. The device sports a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture accompanied with LED flash. There is also a 16MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture for selfies, as reported by Gadgets Now.

The smartphone is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery that comes with company's own fast charging technology called VOOC. In terms of connectivity, the device offers options such as GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, among others.

As far as pricing is concerned, the A79 falls somewhere in between Oppo's F5 and the R11s. The latest bezel-less handset has been priced at CNY 2399 (approx Rs 23,500) and comes in a single storage variant. The phone is set to go on sale in China starting December 1 in a choice of Champagne and Black colors, and there is no word on its availability in other markets. Since the A79 looks pretty identical to the Oppo F5, it is unclear whether the company will launch the latest device in markets like India where the F5 is already on sale.
