Joo Won and BoA Confirmed To Have Broken Up After A Year of Dating

Joo Won and BoA are confirmed to have broken up. On November 13, a source from Korean news outlet reported that the lovebirds have gone separate ways. Their agencies were quick to respond to the media, as both sides confirmed the news not long after it leaked out. SM Entertainment said, "It's true they broke up." While Joo Won's agency, Huayi Brothers also confirmed, "BoA and Joo Won recently broke up. It's hard to confirm the reason or the timing because it's their personal lives."  

Earlier this year, it was revealed to the public that Joo Won and BoA had started their relationship since mid-2016 and was later confirmed to be dating by their agencies in January. Those two then became the earliest celebrity couple disclosed to the public this year, making netizen even more envious of them after insider once told the media how they were such a heartwarming couple who really take good care of each other.

Joo Won and BoA said to have gotten closer to meeting with their colleagues at a private gathering and soon began developing feelings towards one another. The couple was connected by their similar taste on many things, especially in music and their healthy lifestyle. Both of them also enjoy certain sports, like golf and hiking.

Meanwhile, Joo Won is currently serving in the army as an assistant instructor of the 3rd Infantry Division after officially enlisted in May this year. He previously starred in the historical remake of popular Korean drama 'My Sassy Girl' alongside actress Oh Yeon Seo. The drama itself is a romantic-comedy drama that revolves around the love story of the cold scholar Gyeon Woo, played by Joo Won, who's known as the 'Joseon National's Treasure' for his intelligence in studying and the sassy princess Hye Myung, played by Oh Yeon Seo, which takes place in Joseon Dynasty era. In the other hand, BoA was previously being the MC of Korean's idol survival program 'Produce 101 Season 2' that was aired on Mnet.
